International Residency for artist-academic 2010

Majella Clancy is a visiting lecturer at the University of Ulster, Belfast and is engaged in a Practice-led PhD in Contemporary Women’s Painting at the same University. Her works, brought to life by painting on photo and digital print surfaces, open up questions about race, class and, cultural and sexual differences.  Her practice seeks to address multiple and provisional positions and experiences. An exhibition was mounted by Majella with local women artists who collaborated with her on an art project and opening was held on 25th August 2010. This exhibition showcases  works made during Clancy's one-month residency at Theertha and a joint project between Clancy and Theertha Women’s Artist colloquium.
