International Artists Workshop 2008 – Hantana
The IAW 2008 was held in February 2008 at the Ratnasiri Wicramanayake Training Centre facility situated in the beautiful hills of Hantana amidst the green and lush tea estates. Hantana hills are better known for its mountainous eco systems in Sri Lanka and is 20 minutes away from Kandy, a historically significant town which was the last kingdom of Sri Lanka.
The artists who participated in the workshop were:
Benitha Perciyal (India), Seema Nusrath (Pakistan), Om Khattri (Nepal), Masum Chisty (Bangladesh), Kong Vollak (Cambodia), Ann Ooms (Australia), Sulthana Haukim (Mauritius), Pierre Laurent (France), Jurate Weiss (Lithuania) and Tooraj Khamenehzadeh (Iran). Gamunu Withana, Aruna Vidanarachchi, Chammika Jayawardane, H. D. Shamila, Eranda Samakoon, Chamili Rohana Wijesooriya, Krishanthi Sepalika, S. Sivaruban and Pradeep Thalawatte are participating from Sri Lanka.
The open day was held on 23rd February 2008 on site where large audience attended.
